The Pasadena City College men's swim team ran its program win streak to 11 consecutive victories in South Coast Conference meets going back to 2017 by defeating Chaffey, 149-111, and host Long Beach City, 173-71, on Friday. The Lancers are the defending dual meet conference champions.
Both Harrison Tin and Michael Humphrey won three individual events to highlight the wins. Tin swept the 100-yard breaststroke (59.78 seconds) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.13) events and won the 100 freestyle (49.65). Humphrey was the king of the butterfly, racing to victories in the 100 fly (55.29), the 200 fly (2:06.66) while also victorious in the 200 individual medley at 2:05.89.
Another Lancer picking up an event victory was Grayson Wade, who won the 200 freestyle in 1:56.80. The 200 medley squad of Brandon Tu, Tin, Humphrey, and Mathew Bilaver scored a first place in 1:42.15. The following swimmers took second place in a number of events: Tu in the 1,000 freestyle (10:48.96) and 100 backstroke (1:00.14), Mario Castanon in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.32) and 200 breaststroke (2:23.64), Jeffrey Kha in the 200 butterfly (2:14.78), and Bilaver in the 50 freestyle (22.96).
On Friday, March 15, Coach Terry Stoddard's Lancers hope to keep the win streak going as it travels to face El Camino College and host Rio Hondo College in a 12:30 p.m. double dual meet.
