The Pasadena City College women's badminton team clinched at least a tie for the South Coast Conference title Wednesday with its third shutout of El Camino-Compton Center this year, 21-0, at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.
The Lancers (8-0 overall, 7-0 in conference) extended their SCC winning streak to 28 straight and won their third consecutive South Coast championship. It is the college's 13th conference title in the 18 years that women's badminton has been played intercollegiately under the CCCAA (formerly COA in early 2000s).
PCC head coach Jen Ho has never lost a conference match since taking over the program in 2015.
This year, the Lancers have outscored league opponents, 142-5, in team points. Only non-conference foe De Anza has scored more than two in a match (18-3 win over the Dons on Mar. 10).
On Monday, April 3, Pasadena has a rematch against De Anza in a 2 p.m. home contest.
