Small in numbers, the Pasadena City College women's track and field team received a boost with the recent addition of Lancers basketball star Kailyn Gideon to the roster. Gideon won her heat and was sixth overall in the 100-meter dash at 13.39 seconds at the BC Relays held Mar. 25 at Bakersfield College.

Asha Abdul-Mujeeb won her heat in the 200 meters and settled for 13h overall in the event at 30.44 seconds. Only four women entered the 1,500 meters, one was Lancer Ramina Padashi Fard as she placed third with a time of 5:26.24.

At the Antelope Valley Invitational on Mar. 17, Natalie Smith made the state top 50 in the high jump with a 4-8.75 foot leap, placing sixth at the meet. Smith placed fifth in both the 100 hurdles (18.05) and 400 hurdles (1:15.21). Padashi Fard raced the 3,000 meters in 12:24.03, good enough for sixth place.

Padashi Fard ran the 21st best time in the state in the 3,000 steeple chase (13:09.34) at the Occidental Distance Carnival on Mar. 10.
