Lancers Women's Pair Race Well At SoCal X-Country Championships

While the Pasadena City College women's cross country team placed 22nd overall, it was the individual running of Franceska Millanponce and Ramina Padashi Fard that impressed at the Southern California Championship meet held Nov. 4 at Irvine Regional Park.

Millanponce ran a time of 19 minutes, 40.4 seconds to place 26th overall out of 185 runners from more than 30 colleges. The letterman Millanponce took 41 seconds off her time when she raced at the September SoCal Preview Meet also raced at the same 5-kilometer course.

Padashi Fard, a redshirt freshman, was equally outstanding as she took 38th overall and her 20:01.8 time was 76 seconds faster than the preview meet. The two Lancers harriers qualifed for the upcoming CCCAA State Championship meet.

The rest of the Lancers team saw their season close with Kandace Kwan (157th, 25:09.8), Andrea Sigala (174th, 26:39.8), Alyssa Villagracia (178th, 27:12), Noemi Diaz (183rd, 33:48) and Faviola Aguirre (185th, 34:44.8) all getting a taste of postseason racing.

Glendale won the regional team title while Cuesta's Miranda Daschian won the individual race at 18:12.3.
