Harrison's Small Ball, Pitching Lifts Baseball to 9th Consecutive Win

At 5-feet-5 and 150 pounds, leftfielder Aryonis Harrison plays the game with an edge where he utilizes his speed as a weapon and creates runs a variety of ways while patrolling the outfield like a Gold Glover. On Thursday, his big plays were instrumental as well as outstanding pitching by starter Ryan Graves and long reliever Benny Olguin in the Pasadena City College baseball team's 2-1 victory over Rio Hondo at Brookside Park's Jackie Robinson Memorial Field.

Baseball Now In 2nd Place By Itself In SCC

The Pasadena City College baseball team is going by the adage it's not how you start, but how you finish. That's been the case for the Lancers, who won their third straight South Coast Conference 3-game series where they lost the opener only to win the next two games in each of their series v. Mt. San Antonio, Los Angeles Harbor and now Long Beach City College.

Raider Tello's start to his collegiate hitting career is right up there with the most productive in Pasadena City College baseball history. Guardado Save, A Family Gift For PCC Baseball

His father was a 2-time, MLB All-Star closer for the Minnesota Twins, but on Saturday it was son Jakob Guardado's turn to be closer for the Pasadena City College baseball team. Guardado completed a performance that certainly would make Eddie Guardado proud as his freshman son stranded the tying run on second base by striking out the last two batters in a 4-3 Lancers win at Mt. San Antonio College.

The Pasadena City College baseball team has left a 3-game losing streak in the rearview mirror with victories over West Los Angeles, 11-6, on Saturday and against Mt. San Jacinto, 8-3, on Tuesday in an inclement weather-shortened game. A winter-like hail storm quickly blanketed Brookside Park's Jackie Robinson Field, ending the contest after 6-1/2 innings.

Baseball Rally Falls Just Short, Delta Ends PCC's 4-Game Win Streak

At first, the championship game of the Rawlings SoCal Challenge Tournament looked like it was NorCal's San Joaquin Delta College showcase. The Mustangs, state champions as recently as 2018, jumped out to an 11-1 lead by the sixth inning. The Pasadena City College baseball team roared back with six runs in the seventh and nearly pulled off the rally of all rallies before Delta held on for a 14-12 victory Saturday afternoon in a morning game played at tourney host Los Angeles Harbor College.

Staff It Under Win For Lancers Baseball

Ask Pasadena City College baseball head coach Pat McGee who will be on the mound early in the 2022 season and the response will likely be a one word answer--"staff." Staff meaning if you have pitcher listed as your position on the roster, there's a good chance you could be throwing next. On Thursday, the staff did its job admirably as four Lancers hurlers combined for a 2-hit shutout in a 6-0 win over Pierce.

PCC Baseball Preview: Nearly 2 Years Dormant, Lancers Resume Play in 2022

Little did anyone know that March 7, 2020 would signal the last time the Pasadena City College baseball team played a regular season game. The lingering COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the '20 season after just 21 games played and the entire 2021 season. On Thursday, PCC finally returns to the field when it plays at Citrus College in a 2 p.m. first pitch.
