Baseball Posts Most Runs By PCC Team In 23 Years

When Pasadena City College and Chaffey met up in football in November, the American Bowl championship won by the Panthers totaled just 28 points--16-12. So on Monday, the two schools made up for that lack of scoring, but on the baseball diamond. The Lancers scored the most runs by a Pat McGee-coached team in outlasting host Chaffey, 24-14.

Joe Bacon came within an out of a complete game, limiting East Los Angeles to six hits as the Pasadena City College baseball team salvaged the final game of its 3-game set v. the Huskies, 8-4, on Saturday. The South Coast Conference contest was played at Brookside Park's Jackie Robinson Field.

The SoCal #20-ranked Pasadena City College baseball team swept Los Angeles Harbor in its 3-game series this past week and did so receiving brilliant relief pitching from sophomore Ben Griffith and freshman Connor Campbell. The Lancers stretched their South Coast Conference win streak, now at five games.

Coad Ignites Baseball's First SCC Win

The Pasadena City College baseball team needed a boost and so did rightfielder Evan Coad. The sophomore, who had been mired in a difficult batting slump, took matters into his own bat and glove on Thursday in helping the Lancers end their 4-game, South Coast Conference losing streak by pounding Rio Hondo, 13-5, at Brookside Park's Jackie Robinson Field.

Highs and Lows For PCC Baseball

For all the ease that the Pasadena City College baseball team seemed to have in a 13-2 win over West Los Angeles on Tuesday, it was quite a different story on Wednesday. The Lancers let a 7-4 lead get away in allowing six runs in the top of the ninth inning as Victor Valley sent them to a 10-8 loss. Both games were played at the team's off-campus home diamond at Brookside Park's Jackie Robinson Memorial Field.
