For two seasons, shooting guard Shant Chenorhavorian played side-by-side with fellow guard Deen Abdur-Rahmann as head coach Ryan Frazer brought the Pasadena City College men's basketball program back among the top teams in Southern California. Chenorhavorian will get to continue to play with his Lancers teammate at his next stop--Azusa Pacific University.
After Abdur-Rahmann committed to APU back in May, Chenorhavorian made the decision last week take a scholarship to play at the NCAA Division II college just a nice drive east along the 210 freeway from PCC.
The Arcadia High product became just the fifth Lancer to lead the team in 3-point shooting in both of his Pasadena seasons, finishing with 115 triples.
He joined the program's 500-point club (529) and showed his all-around skills with PCC career totals of 201 rebounds, 141 assists, and 102 steals.
Setting a single-season free throw accuracy record for PCC at 86.8 percent this past season (made 59 of 68 attempts), Chenorhavorian averaged 11 points a game and was named All-South Coast Conference honorable mention.
The Lancers finished 41-20 overall in two seasons with the 5-foot-9 hustler playing strong defense and supplying big long-range shots. His career-high at PCC was 26 points in a win over Mt. San Jacinto as a freshman, and he poured in 24 in a win over Rio Hondo earlier his this past season.
