After the program's most successful season since 2016, the Pasadena City College men's soccer team announced that four of its players have gained scholarships to attend a pair of 4-year universities.
Heading to NCAA Division II Jessup University in Rocklin are Diego Lazo and Jose Perez, both after earning All-South Coast Conference First Team midfielders as Lancers sophomores.
The pair recently received Elizabeth Jensen Transfer scholarships from PCC Athletics and now will continue their playing/academic careers for the Warriors.
Lazo finished second on PCC in scoring with 10 goals and 4 assists (24 points) while Perez is a solid, 2-way player (goal, six assists) as both were outstanding at ball transition. Lazo is tied for 28th on PCC's All-Time Scoring List.
High-scoring defender Angel Nolasco (six goals, four assists) and another starting defender Andrew Perez have committed to NAIA Life Pacific (San Dimas). Nolasco had a solid postseason when he scored three goals and added an assist in the Lancers' two SoCal Regional Playoff victories.
The four student-athletes played at PCC under head coach Francisco Cantero, the SCC North Division Coach of the Year as the team's 15 overall wins were the most by a Lancers team in 16 years.
