Men's Track And Field 6th At SCC Championships

The year 2022 was a return to action for the Pasadena City College men's track and field team. But the college like several others in the traditonal individual sports didn't attract the numbers or the talent of previous years. The Lancers could only muster 11 team points to finish sixth place at the South Coast Conference Prelims/Championships held April 19 and 23 at El Camino College.

Michael Bartle scored two points for placing seventh in the 800 meters at 2:04.35. Thai Ho grabbed the other individual event point for PCC with ihs eighth place in the javelin with a throw of 119-9. The other eight points came in the relays with the 4x100 relay squad of Matthew Karapetyan, Asher Smith, Hunter Davis and Roux Adalin racing 45.89 seconds for fifth place (four points) and the 4x400 relay of Adalin, Davis, Smith and Bartle finishing fifth in 3:34.01. 

In a competitive field in the 100 meters, PCC's best was Karapetyan in 20th at 11.7 seconds. Karapetyan was also tops for the team in the 200--19th in 23.74. Edwin Garcia was 21st at 24.08, Angel Tolentin 24th in 24.47, Davis 27th in 24.58, and Adalin 32nd in 24.98. 

Tolentin had the team's best mark in the 400 with a 53.89 for 14th, followed by Adalin (54.55, 15th), and Davis (54.8, 17th). In the 800, Johnathan Macali placed 15th in 2:08.84 and Ronnie Winn 20th in 2:16.64. In the 1,500, Etienne Deleage was 14th (4:44.10). Cameron Ko was 11th in the javelin with a toss of 109-9. 

Mt. San Antonio won the SCC title with a conference points record of 470.5 points, followed by Cerritos (114), Long Beach City (106), El Camino (80.5), East Los Angeles (13) and the Lancers. 

Note--No Lancers qualified for the SoCal Track and Field Prelims thus ending their men's track and field season.
