Santiago Canyon Again Ends A PCC Softball Playoff Run

The #9 seeded Pasadena City College softball team saw its 2019 season end in the same spot it did last year--at Santiago Canyon College. The Lancers were swept by the #8 Hawks, losing 4-2 and 8-3 on May 3-4 in the SoCal Regional First Round, best-of-3 games series.

Softball Takes #9 Seed, Plays SoCal 1st Round Playoff Series At #8 Santiago Canyon

The seeds have changed but not the opponent as for the second straight year the #9 Pasadena City College softball team will play at #8 Santiago Canyon College in a Southern California Regionial Round 1 Playoff series this Friday-Saturday, May 3-4.

Infield Leads Lancers All-SCC Softball Contingent

Sophomore shortstop Kaylee Medrano, freshman second baseman Danielle Ruiz, and frosh third baseman Samantha Diaz were the Pasadena City College softball team selections to the 2019 All-South Coast Conference North Division First Team as voted by coaches at their post-conference meeting at Rio Hondo College Monday.

Extra-Inning Triumph Caps Another Big Regular Season For Softball

For the third straight year, head coach Monica Tantlinger and her Pasadena City College softball team reached the 25-win mark and her squad's 26th victory, an exciting 7-5 win in eight innings Monday at East Los Angeles capped the program's most successful regular season in 13 years.

The Pasadena City College softball team closed out its regular season home schedule in style with a wlld, 13-5 win over Citrus in a game that ended in the sixth inning on shortstop Kaylee Medrano's walk-off, mercy rule double to right center field on Friday.

Softball Shuts Out ELAC, Remain In 2nd In SCC North

The Pasadena City College softball team moved to two games ahead in the win column over Chaffey as it continues to be in second place in the South Coast Conference North Division behind a 3-0 shutover over East Los Angeles at Robinson Park on Tuesday.

Late Rallies Help Softball Reach 20 Wins

The Pasadena City College softball team came up with some big late-inning hits to win a pair of games last week as the SoCal No. 10-rated Lancers reached the 20-win mark for the fourth straight season. PCC is 20-11 overall and 11-6 in South Coast Conference play.

Led Again By Medrano, Helmuth, Softball Blanks Ventura

Shortstop Kaylee Medrano slugged her third home run and Austyn Helmuth pitched her third shutout as the pair continue to shine for the Pasadena City College softball team in a 7-0 victory over Ventura Friday at Robinson Park.

Softball's Helmuth Spins One Over Chaffey

Austyn Helmuth scattered six hits and allowed one unearned run in pitching the Pasadena City College softball team over Chaffey, 3-1, Wednesday at Robinson Park. The Lancers are now two wins ahead in the win column over the Panthers for second place in the South Coast Conference North Division.

Softball Speedy Small Ball Evident In Rio Hondo Win

Pasadena City College softball team head coach Monica Tantlinger wants her Lancers to create offense any way it can. On Tuesday, PCC blanked host Rio Hondo, 6-0, taking advantage of sloppy Roadrunners defense while pushing across runs thanks to aggressive baserunning.

Five Straight Wins for PCC Softball

For the fifth straight game, the Pasadena City College softball team hammered an opponent to win by mercy rule as the Lancers defeated host Compton, 13-5, Tuesday in five innings.

Oh Mercy: Softball Wiping Out Competition

The only thing stopping the Pasadena City College softball team of late is the game-winning margin limitations. The Lancers clinched each of their last four games before the regulation seventh inning, in routing host Orange Coast College, 9-1 (in six innings), and San Diego Mesa, 10-1, in five innings on Saturday.

Bats Blazing For Softball

The Pasadena City College softball team has had consistent pitching thus far in the 2019 season, and now the Lancers offense is catching up in a hurry. PCC pounded Long Beach City College, 10-0, on Thursday in its second straight, mercy-rule win in five innings at Robinson Park.

B-Lo Throws Her 2nd No-No For PCC Softball

Last year, Britney Lopez twirled the Pasadena City College softball team's first no-hitter in 13 years in a 7-inning shutout over Saddleback. With an 0-2 record in her first five starts this season, the sophomore figured there was one sure-fire way to pick up her first 2019 win--pitch another no-hitter. She did just that on Tuesday as she only had to throw five innings to no-hit Los Angeles Harbor in a 9-0 Lancers victory at Robinson Park.

Offense Stalls In SCC Losses To El Camino, Mt. SAC

While Pasadena City College's pitching has been a brightspot all season, the Lancers softball team's hitting has seen some ups and downs. In the last two days, the Lancers mustered just one run combined in losing to last year's South Coast Conference North Division and South Division champions--Mt. San Antonio and El Camino.

Chacon Lifts Softball In Extra Innings, Now 5-1 In SCC

Catcher Jennie Chacon keyed a seventh-inning rally to tie the game, then knocked in the go-ahead run in the extra eighth inning to give the Pasadena City College softball team an exciting, 4-3 win at Chaffey College. PCC improves to 5-1 in South Coast Conference games and won its sixth in the last seven contests.
