Back-to-Back State Championships For PCC Women's Badminton

For the second year in a row, the Pasadena City College women's badminton team clinched a state title by the end of the third round of play, defeating Fresno City College, 16-5, Thursday in the CCCAA championship match played at San Diego City College. It was the third straight year that the Lancers and Rams met in the finals with PCC winning the rubber match.

Fourth Straight Undefeated South Coast Crown For PCC Women's Badminton

The streaks stayed intact and with a doubleheader sweep over El Camino College on Friday, the Pasadena City College women's badminton team clinched its fourth straight undefeated South Coast Conference championship.

Badminton Win Streaks Still Sailing

The Pasadena City College women's badminton team finally lost a conference team point, but its winning streaks continued last week. The defending state champion Lancers stretched their overall regular-season win string to 42 matches with a 20-1 rout over De Anza on April 6 after extending their South Coast Conference win run to 35 in a row in beating El Camino, 19-2, on April 4.

SCC Outlook Bodes Well For Women's Badminton

Every season, the Pasadena City College women's badminton team is a top contender for the South Coast Conference title. But every year, the Lancers are never truly sure how far ahead of the competition they will be until the matches are played. Once formidable East Los Angeles is one team that was no match for PCC after the Lancers took 34 of 36 sets in a 21-0 rout of the host Huskies Wednesday.

Defending State Champion PCC Women's Badminton Starts 2018 Strong

In winning its first-ever CCCAA state title last year, the Pasadena City College women's badminton team has raised its own bar of success. Now, the Lancers, directed by fourth-year head coach Jen Ho, will shoot for the stars again as they embark on the 2018 season.
