ELAC's Gomez Prevents Women's Hoops Trip To State, Lancers Fall In OT, 70-64

Despite rallying from 11 points down in the fourth quarter to send it to overtime, the 10th-seeded Pasadena City College women's basketball team couldn't complete the come back against No. 2 East Los Angeles. The Huskies' Alissa Gomez scored 14 of her team's 17 points in the 5-minute extra period as ELAC ended the Lancers season, 70-64, in the third round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs Saturday night.

Another Postseason Win For Women's Basketball

The consistency of the Pasadena City College women's basketball team can be best displayed in its success during postseason play. On Friday night, the Lancers won for the 18th time in 20 trips to the Southern California Regionals as the No. 10 seed ousted host and No. 7 Saddleback, 72-65.

No. 10 Seed Women's Hoops Travel For SoCal Regional Playoff At #7 Saddleback

The Pasadena City College women's basketball team earned the No. 10 seed for the upcoming Southern California Regional Playoffs despite finishing in fourth place in the powerful South Coast Conference North Division. The Lancers (20-9) will travel to Mission Viejo for a regional second round contest at Saddleback College on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.

Coach Peron Tallies 20-Win Season For 14th Time

It's been four years since Pasadena City College women's basketball head coach Joe Peron enjoyed a 20-win season. On Wednesday, Peron's Lancers reached the 20th win plateau for the 14th time in 21 seasons under Peron's leadership behind an 80-62 victory over Rio Hondo at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Another Defensive Battle For Women's BB In Chaffey Win

The Pasadena City College women's basketball team knew what it was in store for in playing in the state's most powerful league--the 6-team, South Coast Conference North Division. Many of its games have been defensive struggles, which was the case again Friday at Chaffey. PCC was in jeopardy of falling into a fourth-place tie with the Panthers, but despite playing behind for most of the game, the Lancers left the gym with a 51-45 win.

Block Party This Season For Women's Basketball's Gideon

In the history of Pasadena City College women's basketball, sophomore center Kailyn Gideon reigns supreme in the world of blocking shots. Gideon blocked eight more shots Wednesday to up her state-leading total to 98, far and away a PCC school record for one season in rejections.

State #12 Women's Hoops Foiled By #3 ELAC, 58-45

The state No. 12-ranked Pasadena City College women's basketball team knew what it was up against in facing No. 3 East Los Angeles Wednesday--tenacious defense. The Lancers took nearly seven minutes to score their first point in a sign of things to come as ELAC left Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium with a 58-45 victory. It was a season low in points for PCC.

Lancers WBB Post First SCC Win

Standing No. 13-ranked on the CCCSIA State Top 20, the Pasadena City College women's basketball team found itself needing a victory Wednesday after two losses that opened South Coast Conference play. PCC sandwiched two inconsistent quarters with outstanding play in the middle quarters in a 59-49 North Division win over Chaffey at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Women's Basketball Can't Hold On At Mt. SAC

For three quarters, the visiting Pasadena City College women's basketball team outplayed defending state champion and SoCal No. 2-ranked Mt. San Antonio. But in the fourth period, the Mounties' defense set traps and forced the Lancers into mistakes. Forgettable SCC Opener For Women's Hoops

Billed as a close contest between two highly-rated regional teams, the South Coast Conference North Division opener for the Pasadena City College women's basketball team proved to be all LA Trade Tech. The Beavers won at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium for the first time since 2010 and dealt the Lancers a 71-48 beating Wednesday night.

Blanc Bucket Caps Women's Cagers Rally

The Pasadena City College women's basketball team trailed pesky host El Camino College by 11 points with less than seven minutes remaining Friday night. But the Lancers are the state's No. 11-ranked team for a reason. They completed a heroic rally on Ilianna Blanc's jump shot with one minute left to defeat the Warriors, 70-69.

Ranked No. 11 in the state, the Pasadena City College women's basketball team raced to a 40-20 halftime lead on its way to a 57-40 win over Long Beach City College Wednesday night at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Women's Hoops Starts New Year With Romp Over Cerritos

The state No. 11-ranked Pasadena City College women's basketball team didn't waste any time establishing itself in 2017. The Lancers rolled over host Cerritos, 85-50, Friday night and improved to 14-3 on the season. PCC won v. the Falcons for the first time since Jan. 29, 2014, snapping a 3-game losing streak in the series. The 35-point margin is the program's biggest win ever over Cerritos.

The state No. 9-ranked Pasadena City College women's basketball team settled for second at the College of the Desert Winter Classic Dec. 15-17, losing to No. 7-rated Mt. San Jacinto in the tournament's championship game, 87-72.

The Pasadena City College women's basketball team went 3-1 and finished a strong third place at the 16-team, College of the Sequoias Gilcrest Invitational Tournament Dec. 1-4. The Lancers won a defensive battle over Ventura, 59-42, in the third place final Sunday as PCC improved to 11-2 this season.

During a reign of success between 1999 and 2010, head coach Joe Peron routinely directed his Pasadena City College women's basketball teams to a Santa Claus size bag of tournament championship trophies. But until this past Sunday, the Lancers had been in a drought in the title column. PCC defeated Gavilan, 79-50, to capture the Los Angeles Southwest Tournament title, the first tourney win by a Pasadena team in three years.

In a 6-team conference, five are ranked, including the No. 8 Pasadena City College women's basketball team, and a sixth even received votes. The 2016 state championship game was an All-SCC North matchup with Mt. San Antonio rallying to beat East Los Angeles in the final.
