Rare Down Season For Women's Cagers

COVID-19 Aftermath 1, Pasadena City College women's basketball 0. Although not a real score, it's one way to describe the 2021-2022 season for a Lancers program that had previously set a standard for consistency in winning and making the postseason.

Women's Cagers Lose Defensive War v. State #4 Mt. SAC

On a Friday night where state #4 Mt. San Antonio's defense concentrated on completely stopping state-leading scorer Lupe Vazquez, her Pasadena City College women's basketball team in turn shut down the Mounties offense in one of the most intense, defensive battles of the season. The Mounties prevailed, 57-52, but PCC's efforts stood out in what has been a difficult 2021-2022 for the program.

Women's Basketball Snaps Losing Streak, Downs Short-Handed LATT

A combination going back to December of COVID-19 protocol issues, a near 3-week layoff in January, and ultimately inconsistent play sent the Pasadena City College women's basketball team into a funk. On Wednesday, the Lancers faced another team dealing with its own set of problems in Los Angeles Trade-Tech as PCC snapped a 6-game losing streak, defeating a 5-player Beavers squad, 75-67, at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Season Wavering For Women's Basketball

The Pasadena City College women's basketball team had high hopes when South Coast Conference North Division play began on January 19. By Friday night, the Lancers fell to 0-3 in conference and are facing the prospect of possibly missing the postseason.

Mt. SAC Continues Its Home Hex Over Women's Basketball

No opponent has given the Pasadena City College women's basketball team more problems over the years than Mt. San Antonio College. On Wednesday in the South Coast Conference North Division opener, the Lancers lost for the 13th consecutive time over the last 13 years at Mt. SAC, 67-52.

Lancers Samia Dinniene (15) and Tatiana Ayala (25) were two of just six players available for the San Jose City College Tournament this week.
Short-Handed Women's Cagers Endure Rough Patch At SJCC

Playing without three starters due to various reasons including both family winter break obligations and COVID-19 protocols, the Pasadena City College women's basketball team had truly a skeleton crew at the San Jose City College Jaguar Classic Dec. 27-28. The results were hardly indicative of a full-strength Lancers squad, including suffering the program's worst loss in 25 seasons under head coach Joe Peron.

Women's Hoops' 5-Game Win Streak Snapped In Lopsided Loss v. Moorpark

On a 5-game winning streak and leading 27-23 early in the second quarter of its Moorpark Tournament game against the host Raiders on Dec. 18, the Pasadena City College women's basketball team discovered how Moorpark has become the SoCal Region's most formidable opponent going back to the 2018-19 season.

Lupe Vazquez is a phenom score for the Lancers so far this season.
State-Leading WBB Scorer Vazquez Totals 100 Points At SAC Tournament

Leading the state in scoring average, Lupe Vazquez continues to perform "firsts" in Pasadena City College women's basketball history. At the 3-day, round robin Santa Ana College Tournament Dec. 2-4, she became the first Lancer to ever score 100 points in a tournament.
