Women's Track's Fields Races State's Fastest 800 At LBCC Invite

Deniya Fields was a speed merchant at the Long Beach City College Viking Invitational as the Pasadena City College women's track and field team sprinter recorded this year's fastest time in the 800 meters on Friday.
Fields took first place in the event with a winning time of 2:17.55, putting her at the top of California Community College racers.
Meanwhile, Jaylin Morgan scored another event win for the Lancers with a 25.22 seconds mark in the 200 with that time the fourth among state student-athletes. Morgan placed second in the 100 as her 12.65 mark is 23rd in California.
Ashley Sosa placed second in the 800 (2:29.75, 28th in state) while Anaya Tryon was fourth in the 200 (26.79, 36th in state) and eighth in the 100 (13.27).
Ellen Kim placed 12th in the 1,500 (6:34.93) and 13th in the 800 (2:58.07). Gisell Muniz placed 17th in the 1,500 and 18th in the 800.
Nadia Mims scored 22nd in the 100 (15.11).
Coach Innocent Egbunike's Lancers next participate in the Coast Classic at Orange Coast College on Friday, Mar. 14.
