Perfect In Conference Season For Women's Volleyball

After its 4-set victory over Chaffey Friday night, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team can proclaim itself undeated South Coast Conference North Division champions at 8-0. The Lancers closed out the regular season at 17-9 overall in winning 12 of its last 13 matches.

Visiting second-place Mt. San Antonio College appeared to grab the momentum to upset the first-place Pasadena City College women's volleyball team Wednesday night. PCC let an 18-11 lead in the opening set slip away, and despite having double-set point at 24-22 lost the game, 26-24.

The sizzling Pasadena City College women's volleyball team won for the ninth time its last 10 matches Wednesday night in defeating host Rio Hondo College, 25-9, 25-13, 25-16. PCC continues its stranglehold on first place in the South Coast Conference North Division at 5-0.

Women's Volleyball Grabs 1st In SCC North Race

The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team accomplished mission No. 1 of 2 in its quest for the South Coast Conference North Division title Wednesday night. Despite trailing by a set, the Lancers came back to take the next three sets and beat host Mt. San Antonio College, 20-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-16. PCC is in sole possession of first place at 3-0 and extended its winning streak to five in a row.

Lania Potter continues to be a steady influence for the Lancers at middle blocker. She pounded 12 kills in Friday's win over East Los Angeles.

With its South Coast Conference North Division situation in serious jeopardy, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team stepped up in spectacular fashion in the fifth set of its match against East Los Angeles College Friday night. The Lancers scored the first nine points and led by as much as 13-1 before closing out a 5-set victory, 25-13, 22-25, 25-16, 24-26, 15-4, at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Women's Volleyball Wins SCC North Opener, Now .500 Overall

Pasadena City College women's volleyball team head coach Mike Terrill knows he has a deep team, but on some nights he isn't sure who will step up for his squad. On Wednesday, it was redshirt freshman outside hitter Kendall Schmedes who took center stage. She powered 19 kills, and totaled 11 digs, five blocks, and served four aces in a steady all-around performance to lead the Lancers over Rio Hondo, 26-24, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20, in the South Coast Conference North Division opener for both teams.

The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team stands as a bonafide contender for this year's South Coast Conference North Division title, but the team has hit a rough patch in non-conference action. State No. 12-ranked Long Beach City College handed the unranked Lancers their third straight loss, 25-18, 25-14, 25-15, Friday at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Volleyball Splits Host PCC Quad

It was all hands on deck Saturday when the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team turned to its reserves by the second half of the PCC Quad tourney at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium. While the Lancers swept Antelope Valley in the opening match, an injury-riddled squad ran into a desparate Citrus College team in the afternoon finale.

Injuries that put two starters on the shelf forced Pasadena City College women's volleyball team head coach Mike Terrill and his staff to make a series of adjustments going into Thursday's match against Mt.
