While the Pasadena City College women's cross country team placed 22nd overall, it was the individual running of Franceska Millanponce and Ramina Padashi Fard that impressed at the Southern California Championship meet held Nov. 4 at Irvine Regional Park.
With two of the four colleges not having enough scoring runners, the Santiago Canyon Invitational meet held September 30 became a dual between the Pasadena City College and College of the Desert women's cross country teams. PCC prevailed with 47 points to Desert's 49 to win the first women's title for first-year head coach Innocent Egbunike.
While the 24th place finish out of 32 teams wasn't what the Pasadena City College women's cross country team was hoping for, the Lancers clearly have two above average runners in sophomore Franceska Millanponce and redshirt freshman Ramina Padashi Fard.
New Pasadena City College women's cross country head coach Innocent Egbunike was blessed that he was able to enter his first season with two talented returning runners. Franceska Millanponce, PCC's No. 1 runner last year as the 15th place finisher at the South Coast Conference Championships, and redshirt freshman Ramina Padashi Fard, a strong performer out of Arcadia High, will lead the Lancers in 2016.
