It has been 20 years since the Pasadena City College men's cross country team won its only South Coast Conference title in the sport. On Friday, the Lancers didn't win the title, but accomplished something the program hasn't done in 14 years--finish in third place.
The Pasadena City College men's cross country team continues to fly under the radar, but its fourth place (out of 17 teams) finish at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational served notice that the Lancers can compete with the state's best. The meet was run on October 14 over the Mounties' 4-mile course.
With just four colleges participating, the Pasadena City College men's cross country team scored its first meet title under first-year head coach Innocent Egbunike at the Santiago Canyon Invitational on September 30. The Lancers placed five of the top 10 finishers over the 4-mile course at Irvine Regional Park.
The Pasadena City College men's cross country team was pleased with a 13th place team finish out of 32 scoring colleges at the SoCal Preview Meet held September 16 at Irvine Regional Park.
The Pasadena City College men's cross country team has already made a big leap in performance under new head coach Innocent Egbunike and assistant coach Tyrus DeMinter with the Lancers' third place finish out of 13 scoring teams at the Palomar Invitational held in Oceanside September 9.
