Furious Rally For Women's Basketball, But Glendale Late 3 Ends PCC Season

The women's basketball SoCal Playoff Round 2 Regional on Saturday between #14 seed Pasadena City College at #3 Glendale was a postseason classic. The Lancers battled back from a 15-point, third quarter deficit to tie it with 40 seconds left only to see the Vaqueros' Patil Yacoubian swish a 3-pointer with 10.8 seconds to go ending PCC's 2023-24 season, 54-51.

A 2-point lead with one second left proved not enough as the state #25 Pasadena City College women's basketball team saw a win turn into a loss in a finish that literally was frozen in time. It's double-double delight for the Pasadena City College women's basketball team, which completed a 3-0 run at the round-robin, Santa Ana Tournament Nov. 30-Dec. 2. The Lancers improved to 7-2 as they moved up two spots to #23 in this week's State Top 25 Coaches Rankings.

Women's Cagers Place 2nd At Riverside EOS Tourney

The Pasadena City College women's basketball team placed second in the 8-team, Riverside Earning Our Stripes Tournament as they upped their overall record to 4-2. The unranked Lancers lost to state #13-rated Irvine Valley in the tourney finals, 66-59.

Women's Basketball Giant 3rd Quarter Leads To '23-24 Season-Opening Win

After playing an even first half, the Pasadena City College women's basketball team showed their explosiveness by scoring 32 points in the third quarter en route to winning the 2023-2024 season opener on Friday night. The Lancers downed Palo Verde, 76-64, to complete day 1 of the PCC Sisterhood of Champions Tournament at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.
