Pasadena City College women's track and field thrower Liz Ghazanchian signed an athletic scholarship to attend NCAA Division II Cal State University San Bernardino. Ghazanchian placed fifth in the discus throw at this year's 3C2A State Meet and was the Lancers top discus/shot put thrower the last two seasons.
It was the throw of the year for Liz Ghazanchian as her discus toss of 144 feet, 5 inches in the Southern California Championships came within an inch of the Pasadena City College women's track and field school record on Friday. Ghazanchian placed third in the regional finals held at San Diego Mesa College.
Joelyne Garcia hurled a season-best 108-feet, 5 inches to place second in the javelin as the Pasadena City College women's track and field team's biggest highlight at the South Coast Conference Championship meet held April 25 and April 29 at Cerritos College.
