Most of the time when a team wins a conference title to the victor go the spoils. But the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team garnered only one of the three major awards on the All-South Coast Conference North Division Team. Sophomore Pamela Galvan was named the SCC Libero of the Year.

Women's Volleyball Pressures State #1 Irvine Valley, But Eliminated In Playoffs

It was following the game plan, but late leads in both the opening two sets didn't sustain as state No. 1-ranked and top seed host Irvine Valley College handed the #16 seed Pasadena City College women's volleyball team a Southern California Regional Round 1 playoff loss in three sets, 27-25, 25-22, 25-18, Tuesday night.

Sweep Revenge For PCC Women's Volleyball In Playoff Win Over Mt. SAC

It was only two weeks ago that the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team watched South Coast Conference rival Mt. San Antonio sweep the Lancers at their Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium court. On Saturday, it was time for PCC to return the favor v. the #17 seeded Mounties.

Women's Volleyball Earns #16 Seed, Hosts #17 Mt. SAC Saturday In Play-In Round

For the third time in the last four seasons, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team is in the postseason. The 2-time, South Coast Conference North Division champion Lancers earned the No. 16 seed and will host No. 17 Mt. San Antonio on Saturday, Nov. 17 in a SoCal Regional Playoff Play-In Round match. The contest has a 7 p.m. start at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Women's Volleyball Captures 2nd Straight SCC North Title

An opening conference loss didn't deter the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team, which went 6-1 over the next seven division matches to win its second consecutive South Coast Conference North Division championship. PCC clinched the title on Friday in a hard-fought sweep at Chaffey College, 25-23, 25-21, 27-25.

The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team knows there is one sure way of making the postseason--win a second consecutive South Coast Conference North Division title. Volleyball Cruises In Sweep Over LA Harbor

Freshman outside hitter Leslie Rivera held serve during a 13-0 run that started the third set as the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team was on all cylinders in a sweep over Los Angeles Harbor, 25-14, 25-18, 25-18, Wednesday night at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium. The match was a South Coast Conference crossover contest, one that does not count toward division standings.

The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team recorded its second consecutive road sweep in South Coast Conference North Division play on Wednesday night. The Lancers defeated Rio Hondo College, 25-22, 25-19, 25-13 as they improved to 2-1 in conference matches.

Knowing how important every contest means in the 8-game, South Coast Conference North Division schedule, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team responded with a 25-21, 25-22, 25-23 sweep at Mt. San Antonio College Friday night.

Defending SCC North Volleyball Champs Lose Conference Opener In 5

After a perfect 8-0 trip last year to win the South Coast Conference North Division, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team is learning just how much tougher the conference race will be in 2018. Not only did the Lancers get upset by East Los Angeles in the SCC opener Wednesday, but top rival Mt. San Antonio also was upset in 3 by Rio Hondo. The other team in the division, Chaffey, which had a bye, is off to its best season start in several years.

Fotoohi Comes Up Aces: School-Record 11 Served in Women's VB Win

Prior to Friday night, freshman outside hitter Ariana Fotoohi mostly rooted for her Pasadena City College women's volleyball teammates from the Lancers bench. A reserve, she had played briefly in two matches, and had no actual statistics to show for it. By game's end, Fotoohi had etched her name in the PCC record books, setting a school-record with 11 service aces in the Lancers' home sweep over Los Angeles Trade-Tech.

Five Sets Anyone? PCC Volleyball Obliges, Edges Cerritos

No team plans for 5-set matches but in the past 13 days, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team has played five matches that have gone the distance. The Lancers most recent marathon took place Friday night at Cerritos with PCC winning the South Coast Conference crossover, 23-25, 25-12, 25-16, 18-25, 15-11. It was the fourth time in the last five contests that went five games.

Women's Volleyball Goes Marathon Route At PCC Quad #2

The pressure of playing for all the marbles in a fifth set of a match is now just a way of life for the 2018 Pasadena City College women's volleyball team. The Lancers went the distance twice more on Friday in splitting matches against Citrus (win) and Antelope Valley (loss) at their PCC Quad #2 at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Women's Volleyball Sees Positive In 5-Set Loss v. State #22 Ventura

While the effect of Wednesday night's 5-set loss to state No. 22-ranked Ventura College is yet to be seen, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team isn't disappointing head coach Mike Terrill. On the contrary, the Lancers played with heart and emotion and he was excited about the team's performance before a loud crowd at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Great Start Fizzles As Moorpark Downs Volleyball in 4

The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team seemed poised as it held steady and played point-for-point in a 25-23 opening set win over visiting Moorpark, a program that was ranked No. 17 in the state last season. But the Raiders large returning sophomore group grabbed complete control with a 9-0 run early in set 2 and went on to send the Lancers to a 4-set defeat at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium Wednesday night.

After an impressive collegiate debut in her first three matches, Pasadena City College women's volleyball freshman outside hitter Leslie Rivera was named the inaugural CCCWVCA State Athlete of the Week. Rivera was the SoCal selection while American River College's Savanah Smith was the NorCal choice.

Women's Volleyball Looks To Build On Last Year's SCC Title

At a glance, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team appeared to have a breakout season last year. The Lancers won 18 matches, the South Coast Conference North Division title at a perfect 8-0, and were victorious in a playoff match for the first time in four years.
