It was not to be as the Comets responded with 7-4 and 12-7 victories on Saturday, eliminating the Lancers to end their 2025 season.

The state's #6 team in batting average and one averaging more than 10 runs a game going into the series was limited to eight total runs and just 17 hits in losing the final two games of the Lancers' 3-game set v. state #22-ranked El Camino.

    Tyler Garcia proved clutch once again on Saturday as he hit a walk-off, RBI single in the 10th inning to lift the Pasadena City College baseball team over visiting Compton, 4-3. The Lancers win the South Coast Conference series with two victories although the finale won't be played until Monday, March 24 at Compton due to the wet weather.

    Freshman rightfielder Devon Eskridge unleashed some powerful swings as he batted 5-for-6 with a home run, a double and six RBI in helping the Pasadena City College baseball team post a 16-2 rout over Compton. The South Coast Conference game was played at PCC's home diamond at Brookside Park's Jackie Robinson Field.

On Saturday, despite a sterling performance by pitcher Connor Campbell, he was outdueled by Cerritos lefty ace Derek Valdez, 6-0, at Brookside Park's Jackie Robinson Field.

    Shortstop Bryan Richman put on a hitting and fielding clinic on Saturday as the Pasadena City College baseball team won its opening South Coast Conference series v. Rio Hondo, two games-to-one. The Lancers took the rubber match in the finale, 11-8, as all three contests were played at the Roadrunners' on-campus Whittier home diamond.

This is after many years of being a conference doormat between the 1980s and the first part of this century. The Lancers moved to 106-84, a .558 winning percentage in SCC contests under McGee's watch with Tuesday's 2025 South Coast-opening shut out at Rio Hondo, 6-0.
