Women's Soccer Place 6 On All-South Coast Conference Team

Pasadena City College women's soccer head coach Terryn Soelberg closed her first season in charge of the program by producing six players who were named to the All-South Coast Conference Team released on Wednesday. PCC finished third in the SCC North Division.

Women's Soccer Turns Corner By Winning 3 In a Row

For much of her first season directing the Lancers, Pasadena City College women's soccer head coach Terryn Soelberg has put the onus her team to play a full 90 minutes and execute the plays they work on practice. After a rough patch of winning only once over nine contests, PCC has found its groove, winning three consecutive games including Friday's 9-0 rout over East Los Angeles.

Silver Lining In Women Soccer's Loss To Compton

It's not been the best of times for the Pasadena City College women's soccer team. The Lancers lost for the eighth time in the past nine contests on Tuesday, but PCC played with the type of intensity and offensive urgency against Compton that made the 3-2, South Coast Conference defeat seem like a step in the right direction for the squad.

Women's Soccer Scores Most Goals In 23 Years

In 1998, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram didn't exist. Professional sports icons Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky were still playing in the NBA and NHL. Tom Brady was a relative unknown playing football at the University of Michigan. Soccer great Mia Hamm was the U.S. Female Athlete of the Year. And in '98, the Pasadena City College women's soccer team scored in double digits, setting a school record with 18 goals in a win over Compton.

Alvarado, Diaz Key Women's Soccer Comeback

Down 1-0 with 15 minutes left, Juanita Diaz scored off a corner kick by Angie Alvarado to tie it. The duo then hooked up again with Alvarado blasting a laser off a pass by Diaz for the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute as the Pasadena City College women's soccer team rallied past Norco College, 2-1, Tuesday afternoon at Robinson Stadium.

Women's Soccer Regains Scoring Touch, Beat LAVC

The current Pasadena City College women's soccer team probably didn't want to know how long it had been since the last Lancers goal in a road game. It was approaching 500 consecutive minutes of playing time and 23 months of actual time when Angie Alvarado launched a corner kick that curved into the net for a PCC goal 6:16 into Friday's non-conference game at Los Angeles Valley College.

Coach Soelberg, 2021 Lancers Women's Soccer Team Finally See Game Action

When the late Tom Petty wrote the famous lyric, "the waiting is the hardest part," never more does it apply than to the start of Terryn Soelberg's career as Pasadena City College women's soccer head coach. Hired 16 months ago, little did Soelberg know that her supposed first Lancers season would be cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic. On Saturday, Soelberg and the 2021 PCC squad finally took the field for her official debut as Lancers coach.
