Pasadena City College didn't reach the top of the podium, but the Lancers did score their highest finish in 12 years at the 3C2A State Track and Field Championships held Saturday at College of San Mateo.
Led by a victory in the 800 meters by Deniya Fields, the Pasadena City College women's track and field team placed fourth at the South Coast Conference Championships held at Long Beach City College on Saturday. It was the program's best finish since 2014 when it also took fourth.
The Pasadena City College women's track and field team is having its best year in the eight seasons that head coach Innocent Egbunike has directed the Lancers. On April 4 at the Moorpark Invitational, PCC continued to post some of the state's fastest marks.
